Let’s create and preserve something beautiful together.

John S. Miller is a Denver-based commercial photographer/director partnering with brands, agencies, and marketing teams to create authentic visual assets that connect with customers. His work spans product, lifestyle, apparel, portraiture, and food & beverage, creating imagery that is both visually compelling and strategically useful.

For more than 16 years, John has collaborated with brands including Wrangler, Frontier Airlines, Caterpillar, Land O’Lakes, Sunwink, Smartwool, Pure Barre, Stryker, Woody Creek Distillers, and Tender Belly. His work has appeared in publications including Men's Journal, Westword, 303 Magazine, and Mile High Sports Magazine.

John’s creative approach is shaped by a unique blend of art and science. Before pursuing photography full time, he studied music production and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Engineering from the University of Colorado Denver, while also studying at the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver. Growing up with a mother in the beauty and restaurant industries and a father in computer engineering, John developed an appreciation for both creativity and precision—an approach that allows him to translate big ideas into meaningful visual work.

Every project starts with understanding the goal, the audience, and what makes a brand unique. John brings strategic thinking, problem solving, and a collaborative process to every production, helping brands create imagery that feels authentic, memorable, and built to perform.

Based in Denver, John works both in his dedicated studio and on location, creating flexible production environments tailored to each project.

Outside of photography, John’s greatest passion is his family. He is endlessly inspired by his wife, Amanda, and his three incredible children, Hannah, Jaxon, and Ava. His recently played list includes Teddy Swims, Radiohead, whatever music his daughter Hannah is into, podcasts featuring Brené Brown, and more episodes of Brooklyn 99 than he’ll admit. Eventually, disc golf will come up—and yes, someone will probably mention his hair.

A New Perspective

In February 2026, my life took an unexpected turn when I experienced heart failure and underwent quadruple bypass surgery. Just months earlier, I had lost my father after his own battle with heart disease and cancer. Together, those experiences changed my perspective in ways I’m still discovering, bringing a renewed appreciation for time, connection, and the moments that matter most.

Photography has always been about capturing authentic moments and creating connection. Walking through a season that reminded me how precious life is reinforced something I’ve always believed: the most powerful images are the ones that feel real—the ones people connect with, remember, and believe in.

Today, I bring that perspective into every project with a deeper sense of gratitude, intention, and purpose. I’m committed to creating work that not only looks beautiful, but helps brands communicate what makes them meaningful.
